Why clinicians prefer to use the ApneaGraph Spiro for their patients

Diagnosis

ApneaGraph Spiro is the only system able to quantify SRBD along the complete spectrum of disease.

The unique ApneaGraph Spiro provides clear market leading signal displays and information on the following:

  • Differentiation between central and obstructive apneas
  • Quantitative respiratory effort
  • Severity of SRBD
  • Location of obstruction
  • Snoring : sound, duration and location of obstruction

More on Diagnosis

Diagnostic Methods

PolySomnoGraphy - PSG

Primarily for in hospital diagnosis of sleep disorders with EEG, EMG and EOG leads. With respiratory parameters, OSA is diagnosed by AHI, not RERA/RDI.

Night PolyGraphy

Screening devices. Different parameters measured for OSA (AHI) assumption. None of these systems give complete diagnosis of RERA or RDI. Home recordings.

ApneaGraphy (Spiro) - AGS

Complete SRBD diagnosis. Fully automatized recording and scoring of OSA + RERA and the site of Pharyngeal Obstruction. Home and in hospital recordings.

Video-Endoscopy - NASE

Provides information of the obstructive mechanism and possibly the area of obstruction. Performed in hospital and clinics at daytime, under short sedation.

Treatment

Sleep Hygiene

ApneaGraph® Spiro aids clinicians to identify patients with mild disease severity (Increased respiratory effort, snoring or mild OSA) where lifestyle changes e.g. weight loss/ avoidance of alcohol is sufficient treatment.

Positional Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Patients who will benefit from body position therapy, (to stop supine sleeping) can be identified by the ApneaGraph® Spiro. Typically this patient will show a mild OSA, and, or increased respiratory effort/snoring, manifesting predominately in the supine position.

Mandibul?ar Advancement Device

ApneaGraph® Spiro uniquely combines both severity and location of obstruction to identify patients with mild/moderate OSA and predominantly lower (tongue base) obstructions. This patient group is believed to benefit the most from mandibular advancement devices.

Surgical Procedures

ApneaGraph® Spiro provides the best results from ENT surgical intervention for SRBD.

Comorbidities
